Manage your product files to indicate which have been released to the public and what type of release each one is. You can also provide the date the product was released. Marking a product file as released can affect its score.
You can release a single product file or multiple product files at once. See Bulk edit product files for details.
- In the sidebar, select Files > Product Files.
- Choose how you want the product files displayed: Group By Product or List All Files.
- Locate the product file you want to release.
Search Tip
Use the filter and search features to display a set of files with specific attributes or help locate a particular file. See Filter and search for files for full instructions on using these features.
- Expand the Release Type list and select the appropriate option.
- Unknown
- The release status of the product is unknown or hasn't been set. This is the default setting for product files submitted to FACT.
- Pre-Release
- This version of the product has not yet been released to the public. This includes Alpha, Beta, and Release Candidate versions of the product.
- Stable Release
- This version of the product has been released publicly. This includes RTM (Release to Manufacturing or Release to Marketing), GA (General Availability), Production, and Live Release versions of the product.
The Release Type field displays the selected status. If the status change affects the score, it will be updated immediately.
- Locate the product file you just released and add the appropriate release date in the Release Date column.
A check mark symbol appears briefly to the left of the row to indicate the product file details have been updated.
Oops?
Did you accidentally release the wrong product file? If so, you can easily correct your mistake. Simply locate the product file and reset the Release Type to Unknown.
